Fish and meat are an integral part of the Chhattisgarhi cuisine across many of its areas. Hence they can be found in different fascinating forms in the streets too. Let's take you through some of the popular non veg places in Raipur

MOHAN CHAAP CENTER

MG Road Chowpatty

As the name suggests this place is famous for their shallow fried non veg dishes among which the most interesting one is the lapeta. This unique dish consists of a flavourful mutton keema patty wrapped in a fluffy omelette.

YA TAJ NAGPUR COOKER BIRYANI

Baijnathpara

Their specialty is the pressure cooker biryani which is originally from Nagpur, Maharashtra. It is cooked in a specially designed pressure cooker. Unlike the traditional biryani, this aromatic one was prepared with short grain rice.

LUCKNOWI MATKA DARBAR

Baijnathpara

They have a tempting menu of kebabs and other meat based snacks of which their chicken burra is a hot selling one. It is a rich, buttery and smoky dish made of tandoori chicken, butter, cream, lemon juice and spice

HOTEL NOORJAHA

Baijnathpara

It is a famous family restaurant with a huge sitting space and elaborate menu. We tried chicken malai tikka, kaleji kaadhi and fried chicken. Chicken malai tikka is smoky, flavourful with tender chicken pieces. The second one is deep fried and grilled chunks of goat liver that is cooked on a skewer. The third dish was a crisp and tender, cornflakes-coated double fried chicken piece.

SIMNAN HOTEL

Opposite Muslim Hall, Baijnathpara

What makes their chicken pakoda different from others is their special spices based marinade. Due to double frying, this bite size snacks are crisp on the outside and tender inside.

KEBAB JUNCTION

Baijnathpara

Be it kebabs or rolls, this place has some great pocket friendly options. One can try their chicken roll which is a soft and flavourful wrap stuffed with tender stir fried chicken, onions, ketchup and mayonnaise.
