It is an old Bengali establishment where you can try homestyle mutton curry and rice. Initially it was a lodge with limited kitchen service but now it has turned into a full fledged and well known eatery serving Bengali cuisine. The rich potato based mutton curry effortlessly complements a serving of plain rice.



CHICKEN PARATHA STALL

Firayalal Chowk, Main Road

If you are visiting the Fariyali Chowk then try the chicken paratha combo from a couple of stalls out here. It is a dish that has become a recent favourite. The parathas are soft and flaky while the chicken curry is rich and spicy.



BBQ RIDE

HB Road, Lalpur

This contemporary food stall is an interesting setup where the barbecue station is placed right behind a bike almost like a pillion. Their menu is mostly grilled items. You can try the spicy and distinctively flavourful chicken strip which is prepared with a special spice mix from Chennai.

MADAN DHABA

Old HB Road, Kokar

This basic eatery has a 50 plus years old legacy. Their rich and aromatic mutton curry is famous all through Ranchi. The ambience is very basic but mutton curry is phenomenal. It tastes great with both tandoori roti and rice.


HAJI FAST FOOD

Church Rd, Lower Bazaar ( Near Karbala Chowk)

The star dish of their eclectic non veg menu is the Chicken Biryani. It is a Kolkata style biryani that was mildly fragrant and had big chunks of potatoes in it.

It is another bustling old eatery that has been recently revamped into a spacious eatery. They serve a huge range of non veg snacks, breads and curries. You can try their chicken korma with laccha paratha and firni. Its gravy was mildly spicy and aromatic and the chicken pieces are soft and infused with spices.

Near Hotlips, Kanke Rd

Run by rural development professional turned entrepreneur Aruna Tirkey, the restaurant is one of the best and very few places in the capital city that serves authentic tribal cuisine. Ajam Emba is a phrase in Kurukh language which means 'very tasty'. Drop in for a wholesome tribal cuisine experience featuring some revived dishes and ingredients.

Finally it would be a bonus if you can lay your hand on some home cooked Jil Pitha during your stay over here. It is a spicy and flavourful cake made of rice flour and meat that is cooked between sal leaves. The meaty, earthy and smoky flavours accounted for its deliciousness.
