Ganesh Chaturthi is the most significant festival of Maharashtra that is celebrated for 10 long days with huge fan fare. People eagerly wait for the whole year to welcome their beloved Lord Ganesh home.

The festive fervour and euphoria surrounding this major festival is electrifying to say the least. At the community level here in Mumbai, Ganesh Utsav is observed on a grand scale where sea of devotees pour in at numerous pandals to pay their obeisance to Lord Ganesha. The festival is classified into three segments - Agaman, Sthapana and Visarjan.

Few days back we were in Mumbai to soak in the gaiety and euphoria surrounding Ganesh Utsav. Our journey began on the day of Agaman that marks the arrival of the Lord into the homes or pandals. Today's episode brings you all the exhilarating actions surrounding the Agaman of Lord Ganesha from the localities of Bhuleshawar, Fanaswadi, Kalbadevi and Lalbaug.

Is also interspersed with a short food tour featuring some classic Maharashtrian snacks and sweets that the locals thrive because how can we miss out the local favourites. It was a one of it's kind experience for us.
